Sabi Sand Game Reserve

The Sabi Sand Reserve is the oldest of all the private reserves in South Africa. It was formed in 1934 and became a formal association in 1948. The area has only ever been a wilderness area. It is home to a number of endangered species, including wild dog, bats, honeybadgers, oxpeckers and ground hornbills. Open safari vehicles, seating between 6 and 12 passengers, head out into the bush under the expert guidance of experienced rangers and insightful rangers. Guests are able to get in close contact with Africa's most exciting wildlife species, and are presented with amazing photographic opportunities. On average, approximately 6 hours a day or spent out in the bush on safari. There are three entry gates into the Sabi Sand Reserve: Shaw's Gate, Newington Gate and Gowrie Gate. When travelling to one of the private lodges located within the reserve make sure you confirm which gate to enter at.
