Accommodation
The hotel has a total of 164 air-conditioned rooms in the following categories: 40 Village Rooms, 26 Village Rooms with Sea-view, 48 Garden Rooms, 8 Junior Suites, 2 Luxury Suites, 6 Family Rooms, 2 Family Rooms with Sea-view and 32 Prime Rooms. Each room has a private balcony and most have views of either the ocean or the gardens. Guest room facilities include air-conditioning, satellite TV, in-room safe, direct dial telephone, mosquito nets (on request), Internet connection and mini-bar.
The Village
Rooms
Each one of the rooms contained within the winding lanes and shady courts of the
traditional Swahili Village is uniquely styled to resemble a historical building
from the ancient island town of Lamu. Design features include carved balconies,
coral pillars, fretwork screens, Zanzibari-carved doors, gleaming arches,
stone-carved niches and lavish Lamu-styled furniture.
The Garden
Rooms
The spacious garden rooms looks out over a lush green garden towards the
sparkling reaches of the Indian Ocean. Design features include carved balconies,
winding stairways, broad verandas, sumptuous brass-inlaid furniture and a colour
scheme that fuses aquamarine seas, azure skies and emerald palms.
Dining
The fountain restaurant offers table d'hôte / theme dinners while guests can enjoy a-la-cart seafood specialities at the Jahazi Grill. The Makuti Bar is open for teas, coffees and beverages. There is also a Pizzeria, Sokoni Plaza Cofee Shop and Ice-cream palour.
Activities & Facilities
Upon arrival at the hotel, guests can collect a brochure from reception detailing all the sporting activities, the maiin features are:
- Extensive water sports including windsurfing, deap-sea fishing, catamaran sailing, introductory scuba diving lessons and snorkeling. Activites are available with supplement, except for windsurfing and caramaran sailing for those with a knowledge. An introductory scuba diving lesson is the pool is free of charge.
- Glass bottom boat rides to the coral gardens of the reef (with supplement)
- Deep-sea fishing for marlin, tuna, wahoo and more (with supplement)
- Deep-sea diving and International Dive Certification (with supplement)
At the end of an action-packed day, guests can also enjoy a dip in the cool, blue waters of the floodlit swimming pool or enjoy a nature walk in the Butterfly Garden (with supplement). Use of floodlit tennis courts and air-conditioned squash courts, aerobics workouts and aqua aerobics as well as the facilities of a fully equipped gymnasium with instructor are available to hotel guests without charge.

Baby sitting is available at an additional cost.
Spa and Wellness
The Serena Maisha Spa interweaves a little of all the beliefs into its concept. An Oasis of Seclusion, it is surrounded by strong walls of natural coral, which totally exclude the outside world. At its heart is a sheet of mirrored water, tranquil and serene, over which a simple meditation platform is suspended. The Serena Maisha Spa is a spa in the true sense of the word.
