Constance Prince Maurice, named after
Prince Maurice Van Nassau, Governor of Holland who was a pioneer of the spice
trade in the Indian Ocean, enjoys an idyllic location on the north-east coast of
Mauritius. The resort is located on 60 hectares of private land which is
completely unspoilt, sheltered from the prevailing winds and ensuring maximum
privacy for guests. Its tropical gardens and the calm turquoise lagoon blend
perfectly with the fresh green hinterland and white sandy beaches. A natural
fish reserve situated in the western part of the hotel adds to the uniqueness
and natural beauty of the location

Accommodation
The resort consists of 76 Junior Suites, 12 Senior Suites and 1 Princely
Suite.
Junior Suites are located in buildings with thatched roofs and a maximum of
8 suites. There are 68 suites on the ground and first floor (with sea view
or overlooking the tropical garden) and 8 suites are on stilts overlooking
the natural fish reserve. They comprise of one bedroom with a sitting area.
Junior Suites with connecting corridors are available.
The Senior Suites are individual villas with thatched roofs. Nine Senior
Suites offer direct beach access and a heated private pool. Three suites
(without private pool) are on stilts overlooking the natural fish reserve.
In addition to the standard facilities below, the suites comprise of a
bathroom with a whirlpool bathtub, outdoor soaking bath, separate living
room with dining/seating area, guest shower/toilet.
The Princely Suite, consisting of 2 Junior Suites and 1 Senior Suite with a
patio, is located directly on the beach in a secluded part of the hotel
grounds that offer utmost privacy. Similarly equipped as Junior and Senior
Suites, there is also a kitchenette for service staff, terraces with
dining/seating area and 2 private pools. The Princely Suite also benefits
from three individual terraces each facing a different part of the ocean and
the lagoon.
Each suite features air-conditioning, bath with bathtub, double vanities,
separate shower/toilet, hairdryer, mini bar, safe, desk, satellite TV,
DVD/CD player, Hi-fi, telephone with answering machine, complimentary WIFI
Internet access, furnished terrace or balcony.
Dining
L'Archipel Restaurant is located in the main building, overlooking the pool
and the beach and partly open-air. It is open for breakfast (07h30 - 10h30),
lunch (12h30 - 17h30) and dinner (19h30 - 22h30) and offers a la carte menus
with light Mauritian enhanced gourmet food and themed buffet dinners.
Le Barachois is open for dinner (19h30 - 22h30, closed on Thursdays). This
unique floating restaurant comprises of five decks, located amongst the
natural fish reserve, which is reached via a wooden pathway. Le Barachois
overlooks the lagoon with an unspoilt view of a mountain range - the sunset
is breathtaking. The restaurant offers daily specials including grills,
seafood and Mauritian delicacies.
The Beach Deck restaurant (open 12h30 - 17h30) is located on a wooden deck
directly on the beach. It offers a light a la carte menu and snacks. It also
opens for dinner for special themed evenings.
The Laguna Bar (open from 10h00 - 00h00) overlooks the beach and pool. In
the evenings it offers Japanese menus and guests can enjoy an exotic
cocktail while enjoying the live evening entertainment. The Lounge Bar
(open 18h00 - 00h00) is a trendy lounge located adjacent to L'Archipel
restaurant. Ideal for an aperitif before dinner and after dinner drinks in
an elegant and intimate setting. Situated in the Spa de Constance, the
Fitness Centre Bar, specialises in healthy drinks and vegetable juices.
Activities & Facilities
The hotel offers a wide variety of leisure activities:
Free of charge: water-skiing, Hobie cats, catamaran, laser boats, pedalos,
glass bottom boat, snorkelling equipment, windsurfing, kayaks, two floodlit
tennis courts (balls payable), bicycles, practice putting green, free green
fees at the two 18-hole golf courses (Links and Legends) with a free shuttle
to the courses between 07h30 and 19h30.
With supplement: fly-fishing, boat excursions, catamaran cruises, deep sea
fishing, scuba diving (PADI & CMAS), parasailing, lessons in windsurfing,
water-skiing, tennis, kite surfing, diving and golf.
Other facilities include a library offering a range of books, CD's, DVD's
and indoor games to guests free of charge, meeting facilities and boutiques.
For the younger guests
The children's club, Les Petits Princes, has a games room,
dining area and private children's pool and welcomes children
aged from 4 to 12 years. Supervised indoor and outdoor
activities are organised daily. Children's menus and babysitting
are available on request, with supplement.
Les Petits Princes is open daily from 09h00 until 21h00
Spa and Wellness
Le Spa de Constance with Institute de Guerlain is situated in the hotel's
gardens and reflects the hotel's style with a calming architectural design
and relaxed atmosphere. It offers a wide range of health and sports
facilities.
Free of charge: thermal swimming pool with sun loungers, air-conditioned
squash court, fully equipped gymnasium, sauna, plunge pool and steam bath.
With supplement: hairdressing, massages, beauty and body treatments at Le
Spa de Constance and Institute de Guerlain, yoga and T'ai Chi Chuan.
